Softwood Grading (WWPA)
- Select Structural: Highest strength, minimal defects
- No. 1: High quality, limited knots
- No. 2: Standard structural grade
- No. 3: Economy grade, more defects
- Stud: Vertical load-bearing only
Hardwood Grading (NHLA)
- FAS: First and Seconds (83%+ clear)
- FAS 1-Face: One face FAS, one face No.1
- Select: One FAS face, 4" minimum
- No. 1 Common: 66% clear, cabinet grade
- No. 2A Common: 50% clear, paint grade
